Suggested plan
A perfect United Arab Emirates itinerary
Day by day, so you can picture the whole trip.
- 1
Day 1
Downtown from Above
Start at Dubai Mall, visit the aquarium if traveling with children, and head up to Burj Khalifa's At the Top observation deck toward sunset. In the evening, walk along the Burj Lake promenade and catch the fountain show if it is operating during your visit.
- 2
Day 2
Old Dubai and the Souks
Explore the lanes of Al Fahidi and visit the Coffee Museum or Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. Cross Dubai Creek to Deira on a traditional abra, then continue to the Spice Souk and Gold Souk.
- 3
Day 3
Palm Jumeirah and the Beach
Ride the monorail along Palm Jumeirah, choose between Aquaventure Waterpark and The View at The Palm, then spend the afternoon at a beach or a prebooked beach club. In the evening, continue to The Walk at JBR and Bluewaters opposite the Ain Dubai observation wheel.
- 4
Day 4
Desert Dunes and Sunset
Head out in the afternoon for a desert safari with dune driving, sandboarding, and sunset among the dunes; families with small children or motion-sensitive travelers can choose a gentler tour without aggressive off-road driving. Book with a reputable operator and request a kosher meal in advance or bring suitable food rather than relying on the camp buffet.
- 5
Day 5
Museum of the Future and Shopping
Prebook admission to the Museum of the Future, then continue to Dubai Frame for a striking view of the city's old and new sides. Finish at Mall of the Emirates, with Ski Dubai for families or some final shopping before the flight.

Getting around
From the airport
From DXB, an official taxi to Downtown usually takes 15-25 minutes and costs about โช45-75; allow 25-40 minutes and roughly โช85-130 for Dubai Marina or JBR, depending on traffic. The metro is fast and inexpensive at around โช3-12 by distance, but less convenient with luggage or after a late arrival.
Need a car?
Usually not. The metro, taxis, and Careem cover the areas Israelis commonly visit, while a car adds traffic, parking, and Salik tolls; it is mainly worthwhile for families at remote resorts or for day trips outside the city.
Tips
Buy a Nol card for the metro and buses, and remember that the metro does not run around the clock. During rush hour, book a taxi slightly in advance and provide an exact destination or mall drop-off point, as distances between entrances can be enormous.
Kosher & Jewish
Chabad / community
Dubai has an active Chabad presence and Jewish community offering prayers, Shabbat meals, and traveler assistance; services may operate at several locations, including the Al Barsha area. Advance registration is essential, especially for Shabbat and holidays, and exact locations may only be provided after registration for security reasons.
Kosher food
Dubai has kosher restaurants and catering services, mainly around Al Barsha and at selected hotels, but listings and certifications change, so verify and reserve in advance. Kosher-observant Israelis often combine preordered meals from Chabad or a certified caterer with supermarket shopping; those comfortable with kosher-friendly choices select vegan or vegetarian dishes under suitable conditions, without assuming a restaurant is kosher unless certified.

Local tips
Good to know about United Arab Emirates
- ๐ณPay by card in dirhams and always select AED on the terminal, as merchant conversion into shekels usually carries a poor rate even though the dirham and shekel may appear similar in value.
- ๐For city rides, book a Hala Taxi through the Careem app, and at the airport use the official taxi queue rather than accepting an expensive limousine offer in the arrivals hall.
- ๐จChoose Downtown for a first visit and shopping, or Dubai Marina and JBR for beaches, dining and nightlife, and never book a cheap hotel on the cityโs outskirts without checking actual journey times.
- ๐๏ธReserve sunset tickets for Burj Khalifa, loungers at AURA Skypool and popular beach clubs in advance, especially for weekends and travel between November and March.
- โก๏ธDo not rely on generic kosher labels in apps; verify current supervision and opening hours directly with the restaurant, and order Shabbat meals through Chabad or your hotel at least 48 to 72 hours ahead.
- ๐If you are traveling with prescription medication, check in advance whether it is controlled in the UAE and carry the original prescription in English, as the rules are strictly enforced.

"To me, Dubai feels like a holiday where everything works exactly as it should, from the hotels and shopping to the beaches and restaurants, yet there is always one spectacular moment that delivers a genuine wow. Israelis fall for that combination, especially when they can start the morning facing Burj Khalifa and end the day with a drink overlooking the Marina skyline."
Loves
My favorite spot is Black Palace Beach, a relatively quiet stretch between the royal palace and Palm Jumeirah, with calm water and a beautiful view of Burj Al Arab. I arrive before sunset with water and snacks because facilities there are very limited.
Skip
I avoid bargain mass-market desert safari packages, where much of the day is lost to pickups, queues and sales stops instead of actually enjoying the desert.
Boutique pick
I design a day that starts early in the lanes of Al Fahidi and with an abra ride across Dubai Creek, continues with lunch and downtime at the hotel, and ends with a private safari in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. Among the dunes, I arrange a quiet sunset table and a dinner coordinated in advance around the travelersโ kosher requirements.
