From the airport
From Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris, the RER B reaches Gare du Nord and Châtelet in about 35 to 45 minutes and costs roughly ₪50. Official taxis have fixed fares of around ₪220 to the Right Bank or ₪260 to the Left Bank, and the drive can take over an hour in traffic.
Need a car?
You do not need a car in Paris or for a trip between major cities: the Metro and trains are fast, while parking and toll roads are expensive. A car is worthwhile in rural Provence, the Loire Valley, Normandy, Alsace, and Alpine areas where public transport is limited.
Tips
For long journeys, book TGV trains early through SNCF Connect because fares rise closer to departure. In Paris, validate each required ticket or pass and keep it until you exit in case of inspection.
