This is Praslin’s easiest all-round base, with a long, calm beach, restaurants and minimarkets along the main road, plus boat departures for St Pierre and Curieuse. Hotels such as Le Duc de Praslin and Acajou Beach Resort are right here; rates are relatively high, and daytime brings more tour groups and excursion vendors.
Grand Anse
Along Grand Anse Road you will find supermarkets, takeaways, banks and guesthouses, as well as hotels such as Bliss Hotel Praslin. It is a practical, relatively affordable base near the airport, but seaweed can accumulate on the beach from roughly May to October, and the scenery is less idyllic than Côte d’Or or Anse Lazio.
Anse Kerlan and Amitié
The northwest corner offers superb sunsets and access to the private-feeling Anse Georgette and Petite Anse Kerlan through Constance Lemuria. The resort, golf course and villas deliver a true honeymoon atmosphere; the trade-offs are some of the island’s highest prices, no walkable village center and near-total reliance on a car or taxi.
Anse Boudin
This northern shoreline lies between Côte d’Or and Anse Lazio, near the narrow road by Anse Boudin Chapel, with small guesthouses and attractive swimming in suitable conditions. It puts you close to Anse Lazio without luxury-resort prices, but offers very few restaurants, pavements or evening options.
Baie Sainte Anne
Around Jetty Road and the Cat Cocos and Cat Rose terminal, everything centers on movement: ferries to Mahé and La Digue, buses, shops and local services. It is efficient for a pre-ferry night or frequent day trips, but the harbor is busy, the beach is not among Praslin’s best and evenings feel functional rather than romantic.
Pointe Cabris and the Raffles area
Raffles Seychelles spreads across a green hillside above Anse Takamaka, with private-pool villas and expansive ocean views. Anse Lazio is a short drive away, but this is an isolated, expensive area where most meals and evenings remain inside the resort; anyone seeking walkable bars or shopping will be disappointed.

From the airport
Praslin Island Airport is in Amitié on the island’s west coast. A taxi takes about 5–10 minutes to Grand Anse for roughly ₪45–75, 20–30 minutes to Côte d’Or for ₪110–170, and 25–35 minutes to Baie Sainte Anne for ₪140–200. SPTC buses are the cheap option at around ₪5–8, but large luggage may be refused and reaching Côte d’Or can take 40–60 minutes with a connection; there is no train, Uber or Bolt. Some resorts offer pre-booked shuttles, generally around ₪120–250 per vehicle depending on distance.
Need a car?
For couples or families wanting to cover Anse Lazio, Vallée de Mai, Grand Anse and Anse Georgette, a small rental car for two or three days is the most convenient choice. Driving is on the left, and roads are narrow and sometimes steep, so less confident drivers should arrange taxis or use buses. Guests based in Côte d’Or who mainly want the beach and boat tours can manage without a car; at isolated resorts such as Raffles or Lemuria, taxi costs for every outing add up quickly.
Tips
There is no dependable taxi app on the island, so save the WhatsApp number of a hotel-recommended driver and agree on the fare before leaving. Parking at most beaches is free but limited, and Anse Lazio is best reached before 09:00; access to Anse Georgette generally must be arranged in advance through Constance Lemuria, unless visiting by boat. Buses are cheap but awkward with strollers and luggage, while ferries from Baie Sainte Anne can be rough, so reserve ahead and sit toward the rear if prone to seasickness.
