Paphos is the closest vacation there is: a 55-minute flight, and fifteen minutes after landing you're on the harbour promenade with the castle, the boats and the tavernas. It's the city of the Roman mosaics in the Archaeological Park, of Aphrodite's Rock on the road to Limassol, of Coral Bay, the Peyia sea caves and the boat to the Blue Lagoon in Akamas. And unlike most destinations, kosher travelers are fully sorted here: Chabad on Othelou Street with the meat Jerusalem Restaurant, dairy ANOCH, Hummus Eliyahu, a kosher grocery, kosher gelato and even a kosher hotel. Families, couples and anyone wanting more calm than Ayia Napa all find their corner.

Kato Paphos, the harbour and promenade
Everything on foot: the castle, the mosaics, harbour tavernas, Bar Street and Chabad 10 minutes away. Hotels (Alexander the Great, Elysium) on the city's rocky-sandy shore. The most convenient, but the promenade is loud till late in summer.
The Poseidonos strip (east Kato Paphos)
The big-hotel avenue: Olympic Lagoon, Louis Imperial, Amphora and the kosher Blue Lagoon hotel, all a 5-10 minute walk from Chabad and the kosher restaurants. Small beaches in front of the hotels, huge pools, and Kings Avenue Mall a short drive away.
Coral Bay
The area's best beach, shallow water and sand, with Coral Beach Hotel, holiday apartments and its own strip of restaurants and bars. 15 minutes' drive from the harbour, bus 615 gets there, and nights are calmer than Paphos.
Chloraka and Kissonerga
Clifftop hotels between Paphos and Coral Bay (Azia, St. George, Queens Bay) with the prettiest sunsets and pools facing the sea. Calm and beautiful, but every meal outside the hotel needs a taxi or car.
Geroskipou
The town between the airport and Paphos: cheaper apartments and hotels, the C2 casino, the loukoumi factory and the wide Geroskipou beach. 10 minutes to Kato Paphos, less atmosphere.
Polis and Latchi
45 minutes north at the edge of Akamas: a small fishing harbour, fish tavernas, the Blue Lagoon boat and the Baths of Aphrodite. Guesthouses and small hotels, total quiet, and no nightlife.

harbour, castle and mosaics
Land in the morning, 15 minutes to the hotel in Kato Paphos, and start on foot: the harbour promenade, the small castle on the water and the Archaeological Park with the House of Dionysos mosaics, two hours before the heat. Lunch at Hondros or Chabad's Jerusalem Restaurant, afternoon by the pool. Sunset on the promenade, kosher gelato at Davinci and a stroll down Bar Street.

Coral Bay and the sea caves
A beach day at Coral Bay, the area's prettiest beach, until noon. From there ten minutes to the Peyia sea caves and the Edro shipwreck for photos, and in the evening a pre-booked table at Oniro by the Sea on the cliff facing the sunset. Back to the hotel via Chloraka.

Akamas and the Blue Lagoon
Leave at 08:30 for Latchi (45 minutes), the 10:00 boat to the Blue Lagoon with swimming stops in turquoise water. In the afternoon the Baths of Aphrodite, a walk from the harbour, and a fish lunch in Latchi's tavernas. Those with a high car swap the boat for Lara Beach and Avakas Gorge.

Tombs of the Kings, mall and water park
A morning at the Tombs of the Kings before 10:00, when the light is soft and the heat hasn't arrived. Families continue to the Aphrodite Waterpark or the zoo, couples to Agios Neophytos Monastery and the old town with its market and the Agora tavern. Air-conditioning and shopping at Kings Avenue Mall in the afternoon with a Jumbo stop, dinner at ANOCH or Pambis.

Aphrodite's Rock, Limassol and the casino
Head east on the coast road: a stop at Aphrodite's Rock, then Limassol, 45 minutes, for the Molos promenade and the marina. Those wanting a real casino night stay for City of Dreams with live tables and a show, the rest return to Paphos for sunset on the promenade and a last evening at the Ta Mpania or Alea bars.

a last morning and the short flight home
A last morning on the beach in front of the hotel or by the pool, a late check-out, and last shopping: loukoumi at Aphrodite Delights in Geroskipou near the airport and a suitcase from Jumbo. The airport is 15 minutes from Kato Paphos, an hour and a half before the flight is plenty, and you're home before noon.

Getting around
From the airport
Paphos Airport is 15 km from Kato Paphos, 15-20 minutes. A fixed-fare taxi is ₪90-130, Bolt works and is slightly cheaper, and bus 612 runs to the harbour and the Karavella station for ₪8. Most Israelis pick up a rental right at the airport; Coral Bay adds 15 minutes, Polis 45.
Need a car?
Not for a lazy Kato Paphos beach break: everything is walkable, and bus 615 reaches Coral Bay every 10-20 minutes. Yes if you want Aphrodite's Rock, Akamas, Lara, the monasteries or Limassol; then pre-book an automatic, remember to drive on the left, and know the harbour car park fills by 11:00 in summer.
Tips
Buses: 615 along Poseidonos to Coral Bay, 618 to Ktima (the upper town), day ticket €5. Bolt covers all of Paphos and beats street taxis. Book the lagoon boat a day ahead in summer; Avakas and Lara are on a dirt road, a normal car makes it carefully, not after rain.

Chabad of Paphos has run since 2017 at 5 Othelou Street in Kato Paphos, a 5-10 minute walk from the Poseidonos hotels: daily minyanim, Shabbat and holiday meals by advance registration on the site (by Wednesday), classes, a mikveh and a WhatsApp group with prayer times. It's one of the best-organized houses for Israelis in the region, and it's packed at Pesach and Sukkot.
Kosher food
Paphos is one of the easiest destinations for kosher travelers: the mehadrin meat Jerusalem Restaurant at Chabad, dairy ANOCH on Melinas Merkouri Street, Hummus Eliyahu, Saba grill, kosher Davinci gelato and the Gefen grocery with meat, dairy and Israeli products. There's even a kosher hotel (Blue Lagoon) with full board on the holidays. Cyprus-wide kosher is marked CK under Chief Rabbi Raskin, and Lidl and the supermarkets carry packaged goods with European hechsherim.

- 🚗Cyprus drives on the left: pre-book an automatic, collect it at the airport in daylight and mind the roundabouts. Without a car you're limited to Kato Paphos and bus 615 to Coral Bay.
