Why stay in Nicosia?

Nicosia is the rewarding choice for travelers who already know Cyprus’s beaches and want a characterful city break with history, shopping and local flavors, about an hour from Larnaca. Wander through the old city and along Ledra Street, cross the pedestrian checkpoint into the north and explore Büyük Han, a handsome Ottoman caravanserai filled with cafés and workshops. Israeli visitors also come for international brands at the Mall of Cyprus and Nicosia Mall, followed by drinks around Onasagorou or Stasikratous Street. It works especially well for couples, history lovers and anyone adding one or two urban nights to a Cyprus holiday, but it is not a beach destination.
