Why fly to Bled?

Bled is Slovenia’s Alpine postcard: a turquoise lake, a tiny church-topped island and a dramatic castle poised above the water. Israeli couples and families come mainly in summer and during the Tishrei holidays to walk or cycle around Lake Bled, ride a traditional pletna boat to the island and take in the view from Bled Castle. Do not miss nearby Vintgar Gorge or a slice of the famous kremšnita at the Park Café overlooking the lake. Bled is also an excellent base for Lake Bohinj, the Vogel cable car and Triglav National Park, only about 35 minutes by car from Ljubljana Airport.
