Do Israelis need a visa for Bulgaria?
No. Israelis enter Bulgaria with an Israeli passport only, for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Bulgaria is an EU member but not yet in the Schengen Area (as of 2025), so there is a border check but no visa requirement for Israeli citizens.
When is the best time to visit Sofia?
May-June and September-October are ideal — temperatures of 18-24°C, fewer tourists, and all the major festivals. July-August is hot and crowded.
